We have successfully installed, tested and energized a 200.1 KWp rooftop mounting Solar PV Hybrid Microgrid System at the UNAMI Compound, located in Kirkuk Regional Office, Iraq. This advanced system features a 100 KW PV inverter in a three-phase configuration, a 204.6 KWh Battery Energy Storage System, and a 100 KW Power Conversion system. The system comprises 348 JINKO SOLAR PV modules (Tiger Neo N type Mono-crystalline 72HL4-(V) 575 Watt), securely mounted on a galvanized steel structure with precast concrete block footings. Key components of this installation include: • On-Grid PV Inverter: Four (4) 50KW-1000 VDC three-phase on-grid string inverters, • Energy Storage System: LFP Lithium-Ion Energy Storage System PowerCube-M2A-180 Up to 1000VDC, 204.6KWh (102.3kWh Capacity/ Rack * 2 battery rack, total 204.6KWh capacity battery bank including BMU, BMS, HMI, battery combiner panel with fuses, battery cables and all accessories and fittings), • Power Conversion System: Three-Phase Energy Storage Converter (Isolated Type) BCS100K-A; Max. We have successfully installed, tested and energized a 400.2 KWp rooftop mounting Solar PV Hybrid Microgrid System at the UNAMI Compound, located in Erbil Regional Office, Iraq. This advanced system features a 375 KW PV inverter in a three-phase configuration, a 483 KWh Battery Energy Storage System, and a 250 KW Power Conversion system. The system comprises 696 JINKO SOLAR PV modules (Tiger Neo N type Mono-crystalline 72HL4-(V) 575 Watt), securely mounted on a galvanized steel structure with precast concrete block footings. Key components of this installation include: • On-Grid PV Inverter: Three (3) 125KW-1000 VDC three-phase on-grid string inverters, • Energy Storage System: LFP Lithium-Ion Energy Storage System PowerCube-M2A-180 Up to 1000VDC, 483KWh (96.6kWh Capacity/ Rack * 5 battery rack, total 483KWh capacity battery bank including BMU, BMS, HMI, battery combiner panel with fuses, battery cables and all accessories and fittings), • Power Conversion System: Three-Phase Energy Storage Converter (Isolated Type) BCS250K-A; Max. Turnkey project, which includes a 2.22MWp solar power system and a 3.379MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) . We, at North Power Company, are pleased to announce the successful completion of our turnkey project, which includes a 2.22MWp solar power system and a 3.379MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This comprehensive project involved the design, engineering, manufacturing, and delivery of equipment, along with civil, mechanical, and electrical installation works. It also included the testing, commissioning and energizing of seven PV solar farms (Solar PV Hybrid Microgrid Systems) in grid-connected and off-grid configurations across seven UNAMI locations in Iraq—five in Baghdad and two in Erbil and Kirkuk regional offices. Additionally, we upgraded and expanded the existing Solar PV Systems at UNAMI premises. To meet the specific requirements of this project, North Power Company delivered an integrated solution that includes a Power Plant Controller. This System Effectively manages the PV plant, BESS, Genset and National Grid power, based on load demand. The system ensures optimal control, monitoring, visualization, and analysis of solar PV power generation, BESS, Genset and national grid. The operational philosophy behind the Solar PV Hybrid Microgrid System is to maximize renewable energy use, reduce carbon footprints, and maintain reliability and stability. The Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) is central to this philosophy, enabling smooth transitions between power sources and effective energy utilization. It plays a critical role in managing the complex microgrid network and interactions between various power sources, ensuring a balanced, efficient, and sustainable energy supply. This approach optimizes energy efficiency and minimizes operational costs by leveraging different power sources based on real-time price and availability, thereby enhancing overall economic performance.
